Oil Catch Tanks

Oil Catch Tanks
Aluminum oil catch tank · ITV-compliant
The oil catch tank (also known as an oil catch tank or oil catch can) is installed between the crankcase breather and the intake manifold. Its job is to trap the oil particles carried by the crankcase gases, preventing them from fouling the intake and reducing engine performance. It is a common component in performance builds, tuning and competition.
Protects the intake

Prevents oil particles from returning to the intake manifold and fouling it, maintaining engine performance.
Aluminum construction

Premium aluminum/stainless finish, with a fill-level sight glass and easy drain plug.
ITV-compliant

Essential in vehicles with performance builds, tuning and competition use, in compliance with current legislation.
Description Frequently asked questions
What is an oil catch tank for?
The crankcase breather releases oil vapors which, in the original system, are routed straight back into the intake. Over time, those vapors carry oil particles that foul the manifold and throttle body, and on worn or tuned engines that amount can be considerable. The catch tank sits between the breather and the manifold: as the gases pass through it, the heavier particles settle in the tank and only the lighter vapors continue to the intake.

Construction and installation
Our catch tanks are made of premium aluminum with a stainless finish and include everything needed for installation: bracket, bolts, fittings and hose. They have a sight glass to check the fill level and a quick drain plug, making routine maintenance easy.
When is it advisable to fit one?
It is especially advisable on vehicles with performance builds, tuning or competition use, where the engine generates more crankcase pressure and therefore more oil carry-over into the intake. It is also useful on everyday engines with some wear, as a preventive measure.
