Karting Helmets
Homologated karting helmets for racing and leisure
The helmet is the most important piece of a karting driver's kit. In a kart you sit just a few centimetres above the tarmac, with no bodywork or roof, so your head is fully exposed. That is why a dedicated karting helmet, with the right homologation and a good fit, is the first thing to get right before you go on track.
In this category you will find full-face kart helmets for adults and young drivers, with the approvals that championships ask for. If you are not sure which helmet your class requires, get in touch before you buy and we will advise you.
| Standard | Designed for | What you should know |
|---|---|---|
| Snell K2025 | Karting · adults | Snell Foundation's dedicated karting standard. It came into force in October 2025 and replaces K2020, with slightly tougher impact requirements. |
| Snell K2020 | Karting · adults | The previous karting standard. Snell stops allowing its production at the end of 2026. A K2020 helmet in good condition can still be used wherever the regulations accept it. |
| FIA 8878-2024 | Karting | The FIA standard for karting helmets. The Sparco Stealth-K helmets, for example, carry it. |
| Snell-FIA CMR2016 | Karting · young drivers | Dedicated standard for children's and youth karting helmets. It is the reference for kids who are starting to race. |
Important: every championship (CIK-FIA, national, regional or one-make series) states in its regulations which standards it accepts. Always check the rules for your class, or ask us before buying your helmet.
Size and fit Measure your head circumference with a tape measure, one finger above your eyebrows and over your ears. The helmet should feel snug, with no pressure points, and should not rotate when you move it with your hands. |
Visor A clear visor works for everything. A tinted one helps on sunny outdoor tracks, and an anti-fog treatment is welcome in cold and wet conditions. |
Weight and ventilation A light helmet means less neck fatigue over long sessions, which young drivers notice a lot. Good ventilation makes a real difference in summer. |
The helmet is just one part. To drive or race safely, complete your kit with:
| Karting suits | |
| Karting gloves | |
| Karting boots | |
| Rib and neck protectors | |
| Underwear and balaclavas |
