Engine and gearbox mounts, intermediate bearing carriers and driveshafts for rally and track cars
| Motorsport | Polyurethane bushes | Engine mounts | Driveshafts |
When you build a car for competition, the engine and gearbox stop being isolated parts: all the torque they produce goes through the engine mounts, the intermediate bearing and the driveshafts before it reaches the wheels. If those components flex, you lose precision and parts start to break.
This category brings together competition chassis and driveline components designed to work as a set: engine and gearbox mounts with polyurethane bushes, intermediate bearing carriers and race-spec driveshafts, such as the Satchell Engineering kits for the Peugeot 106 and Citroën Saxo.
| Engine and gearbox mounts: poly-bushed mounts that limit drivetrain movement under load. | |
| Gearbox conversion kits: dedicated mounts to fit a different gearbox, such as the BE4R, with no welding and the engine kept in position. | |
| Intermediate bearing carriers: machined parts that support the long driveshaft and help even out driveshaft lengths on both sides. | |
| Competition driveshafts: uprated driveshafts and CV joints, in lengths from standard track up to full Maxi width. |
| Rubber (OE) | Filters vibration better, but lets the engine move more under acceleration, braking and gear changes. |
| Polyurethane | Stiffer: the engine moves less, gear changes are more precise and the driveshafts work at more stable angles. In return, more vibration reaches the cabin. |
| Recommended use | Rubber for a road car; polyurethane for rally, track or a serious build. |
Always check compatibility with your application: model, engine and gearbox. For a gearbox conversion, also check which driveshafts and flanges you need, as they usually depend on track width and hub type.
