Above a certain power level the low-pressure pump has to be replaced with a stronger one: Walbro, DW, Bosch, Aeromotive or BAR-TEK. They all draw more current, and the original power stage reaches its limit, especially in hot weather. The result is fuel supply failures.
The Torqbyte TURBO PM4 powers the pump from an external supply, so it cannot overheat and guarantees enough low-side pressure at all times. For example, the original Golf 7 power stage works at 17 A maximum, while a Walbro can draw up to 25 A; with the original module the pump cannot deliver its full potential, which can cause misfires or a complete in-tank pump failure. BAR-TEK uses it on its test cars: Audi A3 2.0 TFSI, Golf 6 TSI EA888 and Golf 7 MQB.
