Wagner Tuning intercooler upgrade VW T6 & 6.1 2.0 TDI
Brand: Wagner Tuning
The 2.0 TDI engine uses a water-to-air charge air cooling system: the charge air is cooled by a water-cooled intercooler, and that water is in turn cooled by a radiator at the front of the vehicle.
Even after more than 10 years of production and the model change to the T6, VW has not managed to solve the thermal problems.
The Wagner high-performance intercooler features a new type of high-performance core developed specifically for the demands of the VW engine. With 106% more external core volume than the stock cooler, it sets a new standard. The ideal ratio of internal to external cooling surface maximises heat transfer while ensuring optimal internal airflow. The cast aluminium end tanks were optimised using CAD design and CFD simulations for excellent cooling with minimal back pressure.
