Complete lift kit of around +35 mm for the VW T5, T6 and T6.1, with Eibach Pro-Lift springs and lengthened, reinforced Bilstein B6 Komfort dampers, made by Bilstein in Germany with a sporty-comfortable setup. They give a little more rebound travel than the standard dampers.
At the rear they use monotube technology, with typical Bilstein handling: even with the higher centre of gravity, the kit reduces body roll compared with the standard suspension and offers good damping off road too. Compared with the yellow Bilstein, they are 10-15 % more comfortable in bound and rebound, for a quieter, smoother daily ride. Reinforced bushes prevent noise, and offset eye brackets give clearance on a lifted van.
BEFORE YOU BUY: on fully equipped vans, DSG models or long-wheelbase versions, the extra weight on the front axle can noticeably reduce the lift; in that case, and on very heavy camper conversions, a height-adjustable lift coilover is recommended. On vehicles with DCC, the DCC must be properly deactivated after the dampers are replaced.
