DOWNPIPE
Exhaust gas flow · More power · Homologable with catalytic converter

A downpipe is an oversized pipe fitted at the turbo outlet to improve exhaust gas flow, increasing power and torque. It is the exhaust elbow that carries gases from the turbo to the catalytic converter.

What you get with a downpipe
Power
+15–20 hp

With the downpipe alone. Depending on engine size it can be even more.

With a remap
+up to 120 hp

Combining a downpipe with an ECU remap can deliver up to 120 extra hp.

Extras
Sound + torque

Improves the car's sound and torque. Higher boost pressures and more advanced ignition timing.

Catalytic converter options
Without catalytic converter

Removing the catalytic converter maximises gas flow. Only valid for competition use only. The vehicle will not pass the vehicle inspection.

High-flow catalytic converter

Better performance than OEM with improved gas flow. This version can be homologated for road use. See our range of performance catalytic converters.

Warning

A downpipe without a catalytic converter is not homologated for road use — it is a competition-only product and the vehicle will not pass the vehicle inspection. The version with a high-flow catalytic converter can be homologated: see the full process in the frequently asked questions.

Tip

To get the most out of your downpipe, combine it with an ECU remap. It is the combination with the best cost-to-benefit ratio on tuned turbo engines.
