The clutch is one of the fundamental elements of the drivetrain: it transfers the engine's movement to the wheels effectively and without power loss. In this section you will find a wide range of performance clutches from the leading brands, either as a complete kit or as individual parts: pressure plates, uprated clutch discs in all their variants and release bearings.
Why fit an uprated clutch
The factory clutch is not designed for increased power
When a vehicle's power or torque is increased, the factory clutch reaches its limit and starts to slip: the engine revs but the car does not accelerate normally because the power is not being transmitted properly. An uprated clutch increases clamping force and torque capacity to handle the extra power without losing reliability.
| ✓ Greater torque capacity |
✓ Prevents slipping on modified engines |
| ✓ Greater heat resistance |
✓ Better durability on track and in competition |
Types of uprated clutch disc
Fitted with a single torsional damper or none at all. Very fast, direct engagement. Greater torque capacity but harsher engagement; used in modified and competition cars.
⚠ May cause noise at idle due to misalignment between the crankshaft and the gearbox
| SPRUNG DISC (DAMPED) |
Road |
The central splines are joined to a floating hub with compression springs that absorb torsional vibrations. Smoother, quieter engagement. Ideal for light to moderate power and daily use.
| 3 AND 4 PADDLE DISCS |
Track |
It uses separate segments instead of a continuous friction disc. It improves heat dissipation and response in quick gear changes. The more paddles, the more progressive the grip, although always more aggressive than a conventional disc.

| Release bearing |
If you want to keep the correct pedal feel, always replace the release bearing along with the kit. A worn release bearing alters pedal travel even if the rest of the kit is new.

| Tip |
For the road: organic or Kevlar sprung disc. For track or competition: rigid or paddle disc in ceramic. Ask us with no obligation.

When do I need an uprated clutch?
When you increase your vehicle's power or torque through a remap, a turbo or engine tuning. If you notice that the engine revs but the car does not accelerate normally, the factory clutch is probably slipping.
What is the difference between a rigid disc and a sprung disc?
A sprung disc incorporates compression springs that absorb vibrations, giving smooth engagement that is ideal for the road. A rigid disc has no such springs (or only one), so engagement is more direct and harsher, which is typical of competition.
Why should the release bearing be replaced when changing the clutch?
The release bearing keeps the correct pedal feel. If it is worn and not replaced, the pedal travel is altered even with a new disc and pressure plate.
What are the symptoms of a worn clutch?
The clutch slips, there is noise in neutral when you press the pedal and it is difficult to disengage. A factory disc lasts between 100,000 and 120,000 km, depending on driving style.
Is a ceramic disc recommended for daily use?
In general, no. It offers maximum grip, but engagement is harsh and requires more pedal effort. It is designed for competition, not for the comfort of everyday driving in town.
