AN Fuel Fittings
In this section we offer you a wide range of fuel fittings for your car's fuel system.
What are AN fittings?
AN fittings are nowadays indispensable in many applications and markets, for example in car racing, tuning, machine building, boat building, industrial applications, etc., that is to say in any application where the liquid has to flow, which is why they are basic elements in fuel fittings .
What does "AN" actually mean?
The name AN stands for Army-Navi, but it originates from the aircraft industry.
In Europe it is commonly called "Dash" or "JIC", so any reference that has -6 is the same as AN 6 or JIC 6.
All couplings have one thing in common: a 37-degree opening (angle) that they mate with. Additionally, it is also important to know that the AN size designation only indicates what size outer hose can be used with it.
For example: an AN 6 / Dash 6 fitting should always be used with an AN 6 / Dash 6 hose.
If you need to make a reducer, you must first use a reducer adapter which can then be fitted with an AN fitting.
What are the advantages of AN adapters?
The big advantage of AN/Dash/JIC couplings is that you can mount the couplings on the hose without the need for expensive equipment or a hydraulic press. An aluminum wrench and a vise are very useful, but beyond that you don't need anything special. Also, the couplings are made from high-grade, lightweight aluminum, which also saves a lot of weight compared to the old steel hydraulic couplings.
In addition to AN adapters, it often happens that an adapter is required before an AN coupling can be fitted to them.
If for example there is a metric size M12x1.5 on your engine block, an adapter must first be inserted. This adapter must be of size M12x1.5. On the other hand, it must have the hose size and the AN fitting you want to use for this. We supply adapters ranging from metric to AN/Dash, but also from NPT to AN or from BSP to AN.
In addition to various adapters, it is of course also possible to work with banjo bolts. This allows you to make a connection in places where you have little space. The advantage of this system is that you can exit directly at a 90 degree angle.
The banjo bolt range consists of metric bolts of various types, sizes and colours. The banjo range consists of AN/Dash shaped open nut, on which other AN fitting can be easily mounted.
