Gaz Shocks

The company Gaz Shocks was founded in 1967 in the United Kingdom, expanding into the world of competition and quickly achieving ISO 9001 certification and, shortly afterwards, TÜVcertification. Today it still designs and manufactures in the United Kingdom.

Gaz Shocks offers two main ranges of height- and stiffness-adjustable coilovers (compression and rebound via a single adjuster): the GHA range and the Gold range (previously sold as GGA).

GAZ GHA range — sporty road use

Designed for the modified road car market, with ride height and damping adjustable on the vehicle. The bodies and shafts are shortened to offer a ride height adjustment range of 25 to 65 mm, with a coarse-pitch acme thread to make adjustment easier and minimise corrosion (zinc-plated finish). It is the option with the best balance of performance, comfort and price, maintaining a suitable compromise for daily use and occasional track days.

GAZ Gold range — competition and demanding track days

Built on the proven base of the GHA range, but with much more robust construction aimed at tarmac motorsport, competition and the most demanding track-day users. Stiffness is adjusted in compression and rebound via a single adjuster wheel integrated into the outer body of the damper, easily accessible even with the suspension fitted to the vehicle. It is mandatory fitment in several one-make series, and is available with a remote reservoir on selected applications for greater oil capacity and cooling.

GAZ Monotube range — lightweight competition

A monotube damper made of high-strength alloy, with a hard-anodised body for maximum wear protection. Compression and rebound adjustment via a single adjuster accessible with the suspension fitted, charged with inert gas via an internal floating piston. Its ends use spherical bearings with PTFE bushes, for smooth, quiet mounting.

5	The original equipment setup is a separate spring/damper installation. GHA and Gold (GGA) provide a coilover damper that requires fitting a rear strut.

What is the difference between the GAZ GHA range and the Gold range?

The GHA is designed for modified road cars, with a good performance-to-price ratio. The Gold uses more robust construction aimed at competition, with 62 mm bodies and 22 mm chromed shafts, designed for motorsport and demanding track days.

How much can the car be lowered with GAZ coilovers?

The GHA range offers a recommended lowering range of 25 to 65 mm from the standard ride height, although it can go lower for show use. The Gold range allows similar adjustments with a focus on track setup.

Can the damper stiffness be adjusted with the suspension fitted?

Yes. In both the GHA and Gold ranges, compression and rebound are adjusted via a single knob accessible with the damper already fitted to the vehicle, with no need to remove it.

Can GAZ suspensions be repaired?

Yes, all GAZ ranges are designed to be rebuilt and repaired, which means performance can be maintained over several seasons of use.

What makes the Monotube range different from the rest?

The Monotube range uses a monotube body in hard-anodised alloy, charged with inert gas via a floating piston, and ends with spherical bearings and PTFE bushes for smoother, quieter mounting, aimed at competition and track days.

Are GAZ suspensions homologated?

Gaz Shocks holds ISO 9001 and TÜV certification as a manufacturer. Specific homologation for driving with each kit depends on the vehicle and the country; check with our team or with a certified inspection centre/installer before buying if you need to drive the vehicle on public roads.
