The standard exhaust manifold is designed for a balance between fuel consumption, emissions, and comfort across a broad rev range. A racing manifold prioritizes airflow and mid-to-high-end response, with channels and funnels specifically designed to maximize the performance of a modified engine.

What advantage do Jenvey individual butterfly bodies have over a conventional collector?

With an independent throttle body for each cylinder, each intake tract is shorter and more direct, improving response and cylinder filling at high RPMs. They are designed to work with an aftermarket programmable fuel injection system (ECU), not the vehicle's original ECU.

Do I need to reprogram the ECU after installing the manifold?

It depends on the product. An upgraded intake manifold that retains the original electronics may require a new adjustment or basic adaptation. A Jenvey individual throttle body system, by changing how the injection is managed, requires a separate programmable management system. Please consult us regarding your specific product.

How can I tell if my current intake manifold is damaged or leaking?
