Adjustable cups

Adjustable Cupels

Types of adjustable cups

There are several adjustment systems, but it basically comes down to three types of regulation

  • Camber
  • Eccentrics
  • 3D

The adjustable camber cups allow camber regulation by means of a sliding mechanism that allows adjustment up to 1.5 or 2º in positive and negative.

Eccentric adjustable cups are characterized by having an off-center ball joint and various threaded holes in the outer circumference to allow the position of the cup to be rotated on the chassis turret. The disadvantage of this model is that the advance and camber cannot be adjusted separately, each position implies a joint variation in the advance and camber and it is much more difficult to achieve a more precise adjustment.

3D adjustable cups , so called because they combine 2 mechanisms to individually adjust the camber and caster angle separately, are mainly used in racing applications, drift and other disciplines where the caster angle is more important.
