Sachs Performance reinforced clutches

SACHS PERFORMANCE

Sachs Performance reinforced clutches provide significantly better power transmission and high stability compared to OEM clutches, benefits that are very useful in vehicles with trailers, or for those that have some type of sports preparation.

Remapping often results in a significant increase in power and torque, as well as an increase in the load on the drive train (clutch, dual-mass flywheel, transmission, drive shafts, tires), which is why the connecting link can safely withstand this increase.

For this reason, the Sachs Performance clutch was developed to withstand any preparation, whether intended for conventional sports use or for racing vehicles.

SACHS products are used on countless racetracks around the world. For example, SACHS has been supplying clutches for the DTM (German Touring Car Championship) for many years. This valuable experience from the world of motor racing is incorporated into the development of innovative, adjustable products. The result: SACHS Performance clutches clearly offer a dynamic edge, thanks to the care and attention to detail that goes into each unit, as they are assembled by hand.

Although the purchase price is higher than that of an OEM clutch, a Sachs Performance clutch pays for itself through its considerably longer service life, due to its greater mechanical and thermal resistance.

In addition to the reinforced clutches, Sachs offers the RCS (Racing Clutch System) range.

This range is focused on lower weight and moment of inertia to allow maximum engine acceleration and less response time, which is achieved by using a smaller clutch diameter.

The principle of the clutch is based on friction. And friction generates heat. Larger clutches have the advantage that they can absorb significantly more heat. With smaller clutches, the risk of overheating is greater. Therefore, instead of using the organic friction linings of standard clutches, temperature-resistant ones such as sintered linings, sintered pads or carbon are used.

Sintered racing clutches and sintered pads have twice the temperature resistance, while carbon clutches show 5 to 6 times more resistance compared to conventional organic linings.

In the RCS program, Sachs offers four different clutch diameters: 115 mm, 140 mm, 184 mm and 200 mm. The friction lining can be selected from carbon, sintered, sintered pads and organic.

The number of friction plates is another option in the composition of the clutch. Sachs RCS offers 1, 2, 3 and 4 plate clutches. The clutch pressure force is also of importance.
